Would love to call this house - home.

Amazing, comfortable, accommodating, was a total gem to stay at. We were in the area that had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Huge kitchen, dining room area, cozy loungeroom with wood burning fire box. We had a huge really soft and comfy bed and our ensuite had a double shower as well as a stand alone huge bath. We stayed with another couple so the rooms were perfect for us. Too cold for us to use the BBQ area but that was neat and tidy. Three other accommodation units catering to various sizes of occupancy. Car parking is off street but first in best dressed.

Exceedingly calming

A beautiful place to stay. Comfortable beds, fantastic bathroom facilities.
The view over the water and fields was a beautiful way to spend a sunset and a rainy spring day.

Disappointing

Beautiful location. Unfortunately it is in need of TLC. We couldn’t see outside the windows as they were very dirty, every piece of cutlery, crockery and glasses needed washing, maybe the dishwasher needs replacing . The bathroom was great and clean! Bed was ok.
It would be a great place to stay otherwise.

Isolated location but huge internal space in the Technicians Cottage at Cable Station -Stanley

We were looking for somewhere a bit different to the small units in and around the Stanley Village. Certainly found it here about 5km from Stanley on a windswept plateau. Huge kitchen, dining, lounge, bed and bathrooms. With the wind whistling a gale outside it was cozy and warm with the wood fire heating the lounge area. A good location in itself or as a base for the entire NW Tasmanian area - several scenic drives of 2-3 hours.

Disappointed

We had stayed at The Cable Station in 2019 and it was superb. Every aspect of the accommodation was beyond our expectations back in 2019. It was then a B&B providing more than enough breakfast provisions each and every day. It also had a site manager who was looking after the property. This time it is no longer a B&B. Therefore you have to provide your own meals which is ok but there is no microwave inside your accommodation and you have to walk outside into the guest laundry (which had a terrible odour to it - which made you not want to eat your dinner afterwards) to use the shared microwave. You also had to wash your plates and dishes up in the guest laundry tub after you had eaten your dinner. In 2019 every inch of the accommodation had been maintained to an excellent standard. This time, the shower door leaked and the shower drain clogged. Whilst the view and the uniqueness of this property is still wonderful, the rooms need to be maintained to a better standard and a sink and microwave (or some cooking facilities) need to be put inside the accommodation. The bed is the best bed we have ever slept in so that is a positive for wanting to stay here. Staying here for 1 or 2 nights is ok but we stayed for 5 nights and I would not recommend that length of stay here unless they attend to the abovementioned things.
