A relaxing trip away from the big city!

Lovely hostel with clean bright spacious rooms, great views and a cozy common area!
The rooms were fantastic! Very clean and fresh feel and very comfy beds. They were bunk beds, so would be nice if there were curtains on each bunk for a bit of privacy, but when I went it was quite quiet so not really a problem. Plenty of space for belongings and a big locker box.
Laundry is only available for a 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening, also no tumble dryer (there is a clothes horse) but very cheap - only had to pay for detergent.
Common area was very cozy, all the kitchen amenities you'd need (though I can't remember if there was a stovetop/oven) and loads of vouchers for food! Also loads of leaflets for things to do in Cuenca.
Bathrooms were clean and spacious- individual cubicles for both toilets and showers and plenty of them for each floor!
Staff were very friendly and make you feel at home! Would definitely recommend and would want to come back!
Only reason for 4 stars not 5 is as I do think curtains for privacy would be great!

A good hostel located with very friendly staff! A well located hostel with very pleasant staff!

A beautiful hostel located stunningly opposite the church of Our Lady of Light, near the ancient village of Cuenca. It has a walk of only 10 minutes from the Plaza Mayor and 5 minutes from the central city, and is close to a bus stop for those who cannot walk uphill to the old town.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, particularly Irene, who did not hesitate to give recommendations on where to visit and eat. It also helped me find a place to take a work call inside the hostel.
The hostel itself is very good, has comfortable beds and clean facilities. It is also cozy, with wooden beams and very cool views from which you can see the cathedral and the river in front.
Breakfast was top notch, with free coffee, cakes, toast and cereal. I would recommend this hostel for solo travelers or small groups who want to visit Cuenca on a budget.
A lovely little hostel amazingly located opposite the church of our Virgin of Light by Cuenca old town. It's only a 10 minute walk from Plaza Mayor, 5 minutes to the city centre and near a bus stop for those unable to walk uphill to the old town.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially Irene who didn't hesitate to give suggestions on where to visit and eat, and also helped me find a suitable place to take a work call in the hostel.

I would definitely recommend for solo travellers or small groups who want to visit Cuenca on a budget.

Bad treatment of manager/owner

The owner/manager cancelled a booking for a group of 27 with 5 days notice. His change of heart from offering the Hostel to denying the possibility of accommodation was accompanied by offensive arguments and bordering on rude. We can't judge the state of the establishment.

Great hostel

Excellent location, literally 10min walk to the old town. Lovely rooms, comfortable beds, great lady working there that gave us lots of information. The lady was very kind. You could go in at any time, lovely clean modern rooms and bathrooms, everything you needed, hairdryer, washing facilities. Breakfast was included too.

Fantastic Hostel in a perfect location!

Fantastic location situated next to the Green River! 10 minute walk to the Old Town and 5 minute walk into the town centre and all its amenities. The hostel is very modern, super clean. It has been very well thought out regarding bed linen, pillows, individual bed lights, plugs, laundry, hairdryers etc… The free breakfast was a bonus! Unlimited coffee, tea, toast, cereal, juice from 8.30am -10am. The common area on the 1st floor was very comfortable and lead to an outdoor terrace. The receptionist was extremely helpful and very friendly and gave us so much valuable information as it was our first time visiting Cuenca. We parked outside the hostel for free on a Sunday until 9am the following morning. Beautiful building with wooden beams and lots of original features. The ground floor dining area is fully equipped to be able to take your own food and heat it up. Coffee and tea is available throughout the day for only 50cents. I would recommend this hostel to everyone visiting Cuenca! I cannot fault this hostel! 10/10!
