Lovely friendly hostel

The hostel is very easy to find just a short walk from the train station. I was very glad that I could leave my bags at reception before check in as I arrived at midday and check in wasn't until 3pm. The Staff at the hostel are all very friendly and welcoming and they have a range of activities on offer which is great when you are a solo traveller to get to know other people. I got to join in birthday celebrations and a lovely sunset walk. All the areas were clean my personal favourite area was the vault a lovely space to go and relax

Horrible

A nasty little place where paying guests are just about tolerated. It's run by a stuck up French bloke and a 'clique' of 10 to 12 snobby volunteers, so he doesn't have to pay anyone, and their shifts aren't too long, so they sit around on the chairs and sofas in the 'common room' all day hogging the wall sockets for their phones and laptops, and the solitary fan. With luck you'll get a wooden bench to sit on while on while you eat. Speak to them and they'll look down their noses at you like you're a turd. The kitchen is a small island affair that the volunteers are always in at grazing time, or going through the fridges seeing what guest's food might be left, or not in the little plastic containers with a label. 12 bunks to a small room. Sweltering in summer. Bellowing drunks wandering down the street below at 2am. Showers in the basement level, three floors down. One toilet per floor. If the YHA is full there's no other choice, but I'll give Bath a miss next time if that's the case.

Great Hostel for All Travellers.

A really friendly staff creates a fun and friendly vibe for everyone here, most guests were under 30 but I am 74 and felt totally welcome.
The hostel is an easy walk from the Train Station and right in the middle of the historic town I came to see.
The dorm was clean, the bed comfortable, the kitchen, well equipped and all common spaces well appointed.
I would happily stay here again if I were to return to Bath.

A warm, welcoming, and unforgettable stay that truly felt like home.

The atmosphere was amazing — by far the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at! It felt like a real home away from home. The volunteers were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the price was great for what you get. Big shout-out to Sara, Kristin, Tomas, Bo, Emilio, Jayne, Annika, Dave, Maggie, Leiker, Emily, Andres, Paola, Jenna, Gracie, Lizzie — and to the lovely manager and owners, Marianna, Kate, and Aris. You all made my stay unforgettable!

Outstanding hostel for solo traveller in particular

This is one of the best hostels I've experienced. The moment I arrived I felt welcomed and part of a family. The common areas are great, and they provide cooked dinners every few nights. They also suggest social activities, so it's great for solo travellers. Special shoutouts to Kanzo, Giulia and Marica, who are wonderful humans.
